The inaugural meeting of the Zhongshan City Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Society Peripheral Vascular Disease Professional Committee and the Zhongshan City Traditional Chinese Medicine Society Peripheral Vascular Disease Professional Committee, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Society of Clinical Medicine, as well as the Guangdong Provincial Society of Clinical Medicine Peripheral Vascular Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Progress Learning Class, was grandly held on March 25th, 2023 in Zhongshan City.
During the conference, Professor Wu Quanhui from the Vascular Intervention Department of Zhongshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital shared the techniques for releasing and retrieving the Kossel inferior vena cava filter, and summarized the use of the filter:
*No pulmonary embolism occurred in patients with deep vein thrombosis after the placement of the Coseal inferior vena cava filter in our center.
*When the diameter of the inferior vena cava is small and the angle between the axis of the inferior vena cava and the axis of the iliac vein is large, the filter can be released normally and can center itself.
*When the diameter of the inferior vena cava is large and the angle between the axis of the inferior vena cava and the axis of the iliac vein is large, shaping the delivery sheath can ensure that the filter is released in the center.
*When the Coseal inferior vena cava filter is released and appears tilted, the direction of the filter can be adjusted by using a guidewire or catheter.
*The success rate of retrieving the Coseal inferior vena cava filter using conventional extraction or catheter-assisted retrieval techniques is high, and complications are few.
At the conference, Kossel Medtech (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. set up a booth on site to share and exchange ideas with the participating experts and peers, promoting progress together.
