The Cathvenus® Circular Mapping Catheter, independently developed by Kossel Medtech’s subsidiary Suzhou Haiyu Medtech Co., Ltd. has been approved for market release by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
Atrial fibrillation is a common clinical arrhythmia characterized by the loss of orderly atrial electrical activity, replaced by rapid and disorganized fibrillation waves. This disorder not only affects the normal function of the heart but may also increase the risk of thrombosis and stroke. Data show that the prevalence of atrial fibrillation rises with age, affecting more than 10% of those over 80. Atrial fibrillation increases all-cause mortality by 1.5–3.5 times, significantly impacting patients’ health and creating economic burdens for families, making it a pressing global public health issue.
The circular pulmonary vein mapping catheter is indispensable in atrial fibrillation procedures. The Cathvenus® Circular Mapping Catheter is composed of an O-shaped ring, catheter body, and handle, and is used to map, and record pulmonary vein electrical signals, or perform pacing stimulation. The product offers various fixed head ring sizes to accommodate different pulmonary vein sizes, allowing for rapid and precise modeling that provides more detailed anatomical information.
Launching the Cathvenus® Circular Mapping Catheter further enhances the safety and efficacy of atrial fibrillation procedures and contributes to the advancement of electrophysiology in China.
